super fun super long weekend.
I had some vacation time to use up before it expires at the end of the month so I've had the last few days off of work. Here is what I did.
1. Went to San Diego Friday-Sunday to hang out with Curtis. His band was playing at the Red Bull Air Race. It did not really seem like the GA scene at all but they put them all up really nice. San Diego is beautiful but a bit weird. I don't use the term "douchebag" very often but I don't know how else to describe the majority of people who appear to populate the city. Also, a lot of women with fake boobs dressed inappropriately for their age. Could be just the kind of people who are attracted by a Red Bull event, who knows. I ate tacos every day, got a lot of sun and did a lot of nothing, mostly. It was just what I needed.
2. Monday Curtis and I went to Discovery Park and ate fish and chips at the Pacific Inn and it was a perfect day. Then I met up with my ladies to have some drinks at Linda's before heading to the Cha Cha for Cinco de Mayo festivities. I played foos ball with some strangers and drank too much. All my friends left but I was still having fun dancing by myself, which is the mark of a good night I think, but then someone started harassing a gay guy and there was a scuffle. I don't know exactly what happened but I heard someone yell something about fags so it was definitely hateful. The music was cut and that was the end of that. I had been dancing near a trio of cute hipster lesbians and they were so bummed and pissed off I was a little heartbroken. People are such assholes. If you don't like the gays then don't come hang out in the gayest part of Seattle. Obvious!
3. Today I was pretty hungover. Slept in, ate teriyaki, got my nails did, and layed around for most of the day.
Pretty much a perfect five days. Now it is back to work and real life tomorrow. Sigh!
P.S.:
